Revisions

The model has been taken apart so many times to fix a problem, I have lost count. Here is a list of revisions made since this blog started.

On September 13th, I was staring at the model and realized that the front of the tower was wrong. The spacing between the windows was off, so I moved in closer to see what the problem was.

When the tower was initially built, it was done in two sections, the lower half, which matched the lower tier rooflines, and then the upper half, which sat on top of the center roof. This meant there was some extra spacing in the front due to the roof plates.

I tore the tower and top center of the roof apart and decided to build the front tower face as one piece. As a bonus, that wall is now more secure due to changing the layout of the wall support plates.

The roof plates had to be rearranged, and I ended up making two more layers than before. This made the roof more rigid, which is a good thing, and made it so I didn't have to change how the steeple was built.

Now the spacing between the windows is correct, and the wall and roof are more rigid.

We finally received the last eight pieces for the temple today. When I originally designed the roofs for the main building, I didn't use corner roof pieces for the center features on the east and west wings. The corner pieces are what we received today and are the final LEGO pieces for the build.
